Meet Merry Jennifer Markham, Founder of MMarkham Travel
I started MMarkham Travel because I’ve always loved traveling and the act of travel planning. I’ve seen first-hand the power travel has to open minds and hearts in my own family. Whether they were tearing through the Louvre on a private treasure hunt or leading a dog sled across a glacier in Alaska, my children always returned home from our trips filled with curiosity and wonderment about the world around them.
I was also inspired to start a travel agency by my other great life passion: medicine. I’ve worked as an oncologist for the past two decades, and I’ve shared many heart-rending moments with my cancer patients through the years.
If there’s one thread that ties far too many of my patients' stories together, it’s regret. They regret what they didn’t do in life—not spending more time with their loved ones, away from their offices and hectic schedules.
I wish I could turn back the clock for them, and give them that precious time back. That’s what I hope to do for my clients today through MMarkham Travel—create moments that foster fierce connection to the most important people in your life, and to the beauty that surrounds us all. Through authentic travel, you can fill your time with vibrant experiences that transform into memories you’ll treasure forever.

All of them! Okay, if I have to name one, I’ll say Paris. There is so much to see and explore in Paris, and I could walk those streets for hours taking it all in. And I have!

Be flexible. Travel is unpredictable - because life is unpredictable. Take deep breaths and be patient when things don’t go quite as planned.
my favorite travel memory
One of my favorite travel memories is of sitting at a picnic table on the balcony of the Plain of Six Glaciers Tea House in Banff National Park with my family after an intense hike up the mountain from the shores of Lake Louise. As we sat there enjoying slices of chocolate cake and cool lemonade, we heard only the occasional quiet conversations of the other hikers who’d made the trek, the chatter of birds in the trees above us, the murmur of a snowmelt-fed creek nearby, and the periodic rumble of avalanches echoing across the valley from the neighboring mountain.
